NUBI AJOU 'NUBI Picnic' - April 4th, 2026On April 4th, the event “NUBI Picnic” was held at Chanyongmun to offer participants an opportunity to relax and connect with others in an outdoor setting. The event aimed to foster a welcoming and inclusive environment while promoting interaction among participants from diverse backgrounds.The event consisted of various activities, including food sharing, a ride on the Hwaseong Eocha, a traditional Korean archery session, and a kite-making and flying activity. Participants gathered in small groups to share their lunchboxes, creating a lively and engaging atmosphere throughout the picnic. As part of this activity, one NUBI student and one GSIS student who brought the most impressive lunchboxes were selected and awarded portable chargers as prizes.During the archery session, participants were introduced to basic techniques such as posture, aiming, and shooting before trying the activity themselves. The kite-making session allowed participants to decorate their own kites and fly them in an open field, adding a playful and energetic element to the event. The Hwaseong Eocha ride further enhanced the experience by allowing participants to explore the surroundings of Suwon Hwaseong.Overall, NUBI Picnic left participants with lasting memories and strengthened their sense of connection within the NUBI AJOU community.

NUBI AJOU 'Taekwondo Class' - March 28th, 2026 On March 28th, the Taekwondo Class was held to provide international participants with a hands on experience of one of Korea’s representative traditional martial arts. The program was designed to enhance participants’ understanding of Korean culture while allowing them to actively learn both the movements and cultural meaning of Taekwondo.Participants were divided into two groups and took part in a rotation system between the Taekwondo studio and a classroom. At the studio, they practiced basic techniques such as front kicks and roundhouse kicks, followed by a board-breaking activity. In the classroom, participants engaged in interactive activities including a Kahoot quiz, a coloring activity, and a team-based breaking challenge. At the end of the event, scores from the classroom activities and participation in the Taekwondo session were combined to select one winning team for each session. The winners received Osulloc Premium Green Tea Waffles as prizes. Overall, the program successfully combined physical activity and cultural experience, helping participants build connections while gaining a deeper understanding of Korean culture!

NUBI AJOU 'NUBER' - March 14th, 2026 On March 14th, the event “NUBER” was held as a networking activity for participants. The program was designed to help participants get to know each other through various interactive games and create a lively and friendly atmosphere.The event began with an icebreaking activity where participants formed teams and decided on their team names and slogans. After that, participants played a Bingo game by walking around and asking questions to find people who matched the descriptions on their bingo sheets. This activity encouraged participants to interact with many new people.Next, participants enjoyed a Kahoot quiz game and a TMI game. In the TMI game, participants first competed in a challenge to shake off all the sticky notes attached to their bodies to find the most energetic person. Then, another challenge required participants to guess ten seconds without looking at a timer.At the end of the event, the scores from all games were combined to determine the winners. The first-place team received portable chargers and the second-place team received laptop stands. In addition, a Stanley tumbler was given as a special prize through a random pinball game. After taking group photos together, the event came to an end, leaving participants with enjoyable and memorable moments.

The Graduate School of International Studies at Ajou University held its “2025 Winter Commencement Ceremony” on the 13th at the Yulgok Hall Auditorium. A total of 70 graduates were awarded degrees from four departments.The ceremony began with a report of academic affair, followed by congratulatory remarks from the Dean of the Graduate School of International Studies, a congratulatory address from the Chief of Education Division at the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Korea, conferral of thedegrees, conferral of the awards, and valedictory speeches by student representatives. Department chairs and faculty members of the Graduate School of International Studies, as well as officials from the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Korea and the Graduate School of Business and Entrepreneurship (GSBE) of Uzbekistan, attended the ceremony to offer their congratulations.The 70 graduates who received degrees came from eight countries, including Bangladesh, Nepal, and Uzbekistan. The Department of International Business produced the largest number of graduates with 48 students. This was followed by the Department of International Trade (9 graduates), the Department of Civil Society (6 graduates), and the Department of International Development Cooperation (7 graduates).In his congratulatory address, Dean Jang Byung-yoon quoted a poem by Korean poet Yoon Dong-ju, congratulating the graduates on their new beginnings. Shakhzod Kurbanov, Chief of Education at the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Korea, also took the stage to deliver his congratulations and words of encouragement.Two student representatives then delivered valedictory speeches.Ferdous Jannatul, a Bangladeshi student who received the President’s Award, said, “Studying at the Graduate School of International Studies gave me confidence in myself, and that time made me stronger. I am grateful for the support and encouragement of the professors and staff.”Representing participants in the dual degree program between Ajou University’s Graduate School of International Studies and the Graduate School of Business and Entrepreneurship (GSBE) of Uzbekistan, Toirov Saidjasirkhon remarked, “I cannot say that the journey to earning this degree was an easy one. The valuable experiences at Ajou University and every moment along the way strengthened me and enabled me to achieve my dreams.”Meanwhile, Ajou University signed an agreement with the Graduate School of Business and Entrepreneurship (GSBE) of Uzbekistan in 2022 and began operating a dual degree program. The program is designed for Uzbek government officials and employees of related institutions. Students complete two semesters in Uzbekistan and two semesters at Ajou University to receive degrees from both institutions. This marks the third graduating class of the program. Including this year’s 16 graduates, a total of 58 students have completed the program to date.

On February 9 (Mon) at 11:00 a.m., the PTPI Lee Kwang Soo Scholarship Award Ceremony was held in Room 115 on the first floor of Yulgok Hall at Ajou University. The ceremony was attended by the donor Mr. Lee Kwang Soo, Dean Chang Byung-yun of the Graduate School of International Studies, Prof. Yoon Cheok-seok, Prof. Kang Min-hyung, Head of the Department of International Business, Prof. Jung Hyoung-wook, Head of the Department of International Development Cooperation, and the scholarship recipients MD HABIBULLAH and SHAMIMA BINTE KARIM from the Department of International Business.The Lee Kwang Soo Scholarship, established in 2014, supports international students studying in Korea. Mr. Lee, a graduate of the Executive Program at the Graduate School of Business, has continuously supported students in achieving academic success and personal growth.The scholarship is part of PTPI (People to People International), a global non-profit organization founded in 1956 by U.S. President Dwight D. Eisenhower. PTPI aims to promote international understanding, goodwill, and volunteerism through personal and cultural exchange. PTPI Korea, established in 1964 with the Chuncheon Club as its first overseas chapter, now operates 32 adult chapters and numerous student chapters nationwide and continues its mission to foster global friendship and peace.The Graduate School of International Studies plans to select new recipients for the Lee Kwang Soo Scholarship for the Spring 2026 semester.

On January 29 (Thu) at 11:30 a.m., the Adm. Yi Sun-sin Scholarship Certificate Award Ceremony for the Fall 2025 semester was held in Room 151 on the first floor of Yulgok Hall at Ajou University.The ceremony was attended by Dean Chang Byung-yun of the Graduate School of International Studies, Prof. Yoon Cheon-seok, Prof. Kang Min-hyung, Head of the Department of International Business, Prof. Jung Hyoung-wook, Head of the Department of International Development Cooperation, and Prof. Bae Sang-seok, Head of the Department of Civil Society. The scholarship recipient, ARSHON NIROULA from the Department of International Business, was also present at the ceremony.The Adm. Yi Sun-sin Scholarship aims to support outstanding students of the Graduate School of International Studies in recognition of their academic excellence and leadership potential. Through this scholarship, the Graduate School continues its commitment to fostering global talent and encouraging students to pursue academic achievement and personal development.The Graduate School of International Studies plans to select new recipients for the Adm. Tongyeong, South Korea — February 2026 — In an effort to enhance global cultural engagement and experiential learning, Tongyeong City recently hosted an immersive field tour for international graduate students from Ajou University’s Graduate School. The two-day event, held on February 5 and 6, offered students a rich combination of historical education, cultural immersion, and natural exploration.Organized in collaboration with local government and community stakeholders, the field trip welcomed 21 international students from five countries — including Uzbekistan, Indonesia, Mexico, and Guyana — all of whom are enrolled in international graduate programs at Ajou University Graduate School of International Studies.During the tour, participants hiked Mireuksan Mountain to appreciate Tongyeong’s striking coastal landscapes and visited key historical sites such as the Undersea Tunnel and Hansando Island’s Jaeseung Dang, which are closely connected to the legacy of Admiral Yi Sun-shin, one of Korea’s most revered historical figures.A highlight of the experience was a night visit to “DPIRANG”, a newly reopened multimedia content park showcasing innovative night-time cultural entertainment. Students noted that the multimedia displays added a fresh dimension to their appreciation of Korea’s cultural heritage.One participating student shared, “Standing in the places where history was made and experiencing the natural beauty of Tongyeong firsthand was unforgettable. The combination of culture, nature, and modern media content made this trip truly meaningful.”Tongyeong City officials say they plan to continue similar initiatives aimed at both domestic and foreign participants, designed to strengthen international understanding and promote regional tourism.

NUBI Farewell Party – November 28, 2025On November 28th, Farewell Party was held in Yeonam Hall, hosted by the International Cooperation Team. The event marked the conclusion of the 36th Nubi Ajou activities.This semester’s farewell party was themed “K-pop Demon Hunters,” built around the idea of protecting Nubi Ajou’s memories from demons trying to disrupt them. In line with the theme, a series of entertaining game programs were prepared. Participants competed in Sound of Light, where they listened to OST snippets and guessed the movie titles; Song of Light, where GSIS students sang along to Korean songs and teams identified the track titles; and Dance of Light, which involved recognizing songs by watching team members imitate choreography from music videos.Throughout the event, fried chicken, pizza, and gimbap were provided, allowing participants to share a relaxing meal together and enjoy a friendly, lively atmosphere.The farewell party created a meaningful space for participants to look back on the semester while enjoying engaging activities. The event concluded with students promising to meet GSIS members again soon, bringing the 36th Nubi Ajou program to a successful close.

NUBI Ajou One-Day Café – November 28th, 2025 On November 28th, the “One-Day Café” event was held in Dasan Hall from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event was organized as a promotional activity for the ‘NUBI Ajou’, welcoming anyone who are members in NUBI as well as other visitors who stopped by. Participants were invited to enjoy two kinds of drinks—Misugaru and Iced Tea— served with two pieces of mini yakgwa. The warm and friendly booth atmosphere encouraged many students to drop by between classes, chat with the staffs, and enjoy a short break during their day. Throughout the event, NUBI Ajou members interacted with guests, introduced the purpose of the club, and shared information about upcoming activities. Even students who were not familiar with NUBI Ajou showed great interest and participated, making the café livelier than expected. The casual yet welcoming vibe of the One-Day Café created a space for communication and connection. Thanks to the steady stream of visitors and the engaging atmosphere, the event successfully fulfilled its goal as a meaningful promotional opportunity for NUBI AJOU.
