A ceremony is held for the presentation of Akyung Scholarship certificates to twenty six students
[2016.04.19]
On the afternoon of April 18th, a ceremony was held for presenting the Akyung Scholarship certificates at Ajou University’s Video Conference Room in Yulgok Hall. For the spring semester of the 2016 academic year, the Akyung Scholarship Foundation presented a total of twenty-six students with scholarship funds worth 64 million won.
 
The certificate presentation ceremony was attended by the scholarship recipients and the Akyung Scholarship Foundation officials including Chairman Hyeong Gyun Kim. President Dong Yeon Kim, deans of the colleges, and vice presidents joined the event from the University.
 
The event began with a progress report by Secretary General Dong Ki Kim from the Foundation, followed by the presentation of scholarship certificates, words of appreciation read by the representative of the scholarship recipients, words of encouragement delivered by Chairman Kim of the Foundation, and a congratulatory speech by President Dong Yeon Kim. 
 
Chairman Hyeong Gyun Kim of the Foundation said, “I would like to congratulate and give words of encouragement to all the scholarship recipients here and thank each and every donor,” adding, "I ask that the scholarship students grow into talents who will play important roles in our society and become respected donors for the Akyung Scholarship Foundation."
 
President Dong Yeon Kim said, "I believe that those who spend their money wisely are 'the true rich' and deeply appreciate all the donors," adding, "My advice to the scholarship students in difficult situations is that the challenges you are now going through may turn out to be 'a disguised blessing.'"
 
The Akyung Scholarship Foundation, which was established in 2007 by the General Alumni Association of Ajou’s Graduate School of Business Administration, has presented scholarship funds only to students attending the University.
