Ajou University’s event to showcase achievements regarding the Paran Semester was covered in the Society Section of The Chosun Ilbo on June 11th.
 
 
The presentation event was held from 2 to 3 p.m. on June 9th and featured a display and evaluation of individual tasks involved in the program, followed by presentations by the participating teams and an award ceremony.
 
 
The Chosun Ilbo introduced the Paran Semester as 'a revolutionary experiment by Ajou' and mentioned its objectives and noted that students can choose tasks they wish to carry out and design the related curriculum on their own. The article showed interest in a dozen of the participating teams, including those working to participate in the Formula 600 race, launch a fashion line, produce web dramas, make tilt roter drones, and provide psychological consultations to the hearing-impaired with sign language.  
 
 
The Paran Semester was launched this spring semester and is the first of its kind to be introduced at Korean universities. Students can design their tasks and time tables on their own and receive regular credits. Forty-two teams of 120 students participated in the first semester and will get a total of 830 credits. Students can submit applications for the fall semester by July 3rd.
