[Graduate School] Application for AJOU CORE Courses (Fall 2026) 



The Graduate School 「Common」 Curriculum (AJOU CORE:Ajou Curriculum for Open, Research-driven Education) is designed to systematically strengthen the fundamental competencies required for graduate-level research. The curriculum consists ofFundamental Competency, Interdisciplinary Competency, and Research Competency courses.



1. How to apply: AIMS Portal → Academic Services → Course Registration → Graduate School → Department:[Common]


※ Classroom assignments listed in the course schedule are subject to change. If any changes occur, registered students will be notified individually by email.


2. Registration for「 Introduction to Graduate Research(대학원연구입문)」


※ Important Notes for Fall 2026 ※

  • When registering for「 Introduction to Graduate Research」, students must select the appropriate course section:
    (1) Course No. 01200: Engineering, Natural Sciences, and Medicine
    (2) Course No. 01201: Humanities and Social Sciences

  • The course is mandatory for all students newly admitted or transferred from the 2026 academic year onward, as it is one of the eligibility requirements for thesis submission.

  • Students who entered Ajou University asMaster's students in or after 2026, graduated, and were subsequently admitted to anAjou doctoral programarenot requiredto complete「Introduction to Graduate Research」again.

  • Students registering for 「Introduction to Graduate Research」(Required Major, 1 credit) may register forup to 13 creditsin total, including this course. 


※ Students Required to Complete「Introduction to Graduate Research」


  • Students who entered Ajou University asMaster's students before 2026, graduated, and were newly admitted to anAjou doctoral program in or after 2026.

  • Students admitted to anAjou doctoral programafter completing aMaster's degree at another university.

  • Students newly admitted to anIntegrated Master's–Doctoral Programin or after2026(must complete the courseonceduring their program).

3. AJOU CORE Course Overview (Fall 2026)


  • Except for「대학원연구입문」,all AJOU CORE courses are elective. Although they arenot mandatory, students are strongly encouraged to take courses relevant to their academic and research interests.
