Study Resumption Process for the 2025 Fall Semester

In order to resume your study at Ajou GSIS, you are required to pay the tuition before we can issue the Certificate of Admission, which you will need for your visa application. 

Under the regulation of the Ministry of Education, the university can receive each student's tuition fee starting 2 months before the starting date of the next semester. Therefore, we ask you to prepare and submit documents 1-4 as written below by July 10th, 2025, and we will guide you on how to pay the tuition fee. 

1. Study resumption Form: Complete the attached form. Incomplete forms will not be accepted. Submit via email(gsis@ajou.ac.kr).
2. Verification of Deposit (VOD; bank statement): Original hard copy should be sent via post to GSIS. VOD should be over 2 million KRW and issued within 3 months. (Required by the immigration office & Korean Embassy - VOD periods requirement can differ from each Embassy. For more accurate information, contact the Korean Embassy directly.)
3. Copy of Valid Passport (International; local passports not accepted): Submit via email(gsis@ajou.ac.kr).
4. Tuition payment receipt →We will announce the payment method and amount once you have submitted the above documents. 

Once we receive all of your documents, we will prepare and send via email the Final Package for your student visa application. You are to apply for your student visa in the Embassy of Korea in your home country.  

 * GSIS Academic Rule of Leave of Absence is as follows :

 Article 17 (Leave)
  ① A student intending to take a leave of absence because of his or her disease, military entrance, or any other unavoidable reasons shall submit a written request for a leave of absence.
  ② The period of leave shall not exceed two (2) semesters for one time and four (4) semesters in total. Where a student intends to extend his or her leave, the student shall submit a written request for the extension of leave. However, leave required because of the military entrance, disease, childbirth, pregnancy, and parenting (under the age of 8) shall not be included in the period of leave. For this case, leave required because of pregnancy, childbirth, and parenting shall not exceed two years in total. (Amended on December 5, 2016)
  ③ A student on leave shall hold his or her school register even during the period of leave.
 GSIS allows a total of 4 semesters as a leave of absence.

As written in the Academic Rule of Leave of Absence, students cannot exceed four semesters in total.
