경력

    Do-Yeong Kim is a tenured Professor of Management in the School of Business at Ajou University, South Korea. He also held an honorary position as a professor at the School of Business at Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics in China from 2012 to 2015. Dr. Kim has previously worked as a Research Fellow in Psychology at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, and as an Assistant Professor of Psychology at Macquarie University in Sydney, Australia. He obtained his B.A. in Psychology with Summa Cum Laude honors from the Ohio State University and earned his M.S. and Ph.D. in Social and Personality Psychology from the University of Washington. He was also recognized with the Tanaka Memorial Dissertation Award (Honorable Mention) in Ethnic Minority Psychology by the American Psychological Association.
    
    Dr. Kim has been an active member of the academic community, serving on the editorial board and as a consulting editor for the Asian Journal of Social Psychology, as well as reviewing manuscripts for numerous domestic and international scholarly journals. Additionally, he has contributed to evaluating various national grants and has been a member of financial support committees for Korea Higher Education (Korea Ministry of Education and National Research Foundation of Korea). Furthermore, he has played a role in the Academic Reputation Survey conducted by Times Higher Education World University Rankings with Elsevier in multiple years (2012-2013, 2015-2016, 2016-2017, 2017-2018, 2018-2019, 2019-2020, 2020-2021, 2021-2022).
    
    Prof. Kim has also been actively involved in the internationalization efforts of Ajou University, having served as Vice President for International Relations and as a Member of the Committee for Internationalization Policy at the Korean Council for University Education in South Korea. Currently, Dr. Kim holds the position of Director at the Institute for Interdisciplinary Research in Business and Psychology AND Global Management (IIRBPGM) at Ajou University.

연구분야

    Professor Do-Yeong Kim has a wide range of research interests, spanning from basic to applied sciences. His expertise includes implicit social cognition, culture and acculturation, cross-cultural (global) management, career development, risk-taking, and decision-making, with a special focus on topics such as debt management. He conducts his research in various settings, including laboratory experiments and real-world contexts, such as within business organizations.
    
    One of his notable achievements is the publication of the study titled "Cultural Differences in Risk-Taking: The Group Facilitation Effect," co-authored with his former doctoral student, Dr. Junsu Park. This research was recognized as one of the 50 Best Research Outcomes of the Year in 2011 and 2015. It also received recognition as one of the most accomplished research projects over the past ten years in 2012, receiving funding from the National Research Foundation (NRF) of Korea and the Korea Ministry of Education.
    
    Throughout his career, Professor Kim has delivered lectures and presentations on the aforementioned topics both in the classroom and at various scholarly events. In addition to his research pursuits, he enjoys collaborating with students on research projects and has a passion for listening to classical music.
