DORMITORY APPLICATION

FOR SPRING SEMESTER 2026


Here is the announcement for the 2026 SPRING semester dormitory application at Ajou Dormitory. Please review the details carefully and submit your application within the given period. For information regarding the dormitory fee payment, please refer to the upcoming notice.


Notice on New Dormitory Construction Schedule

The construction of the new dormitory is scheduled to begin at the end of June 2025, and significant inconvenience is expected for dormitory residents. In particular, loud construction noise, equipment operation, and vibrations may occur during the construction period. Students currently residing in or planning to move into the International Dormitory are advised to take note and exercise extra caution to prevent any safety accidents.

1. OPERATION PERIOD OF THE DORMITORY FOR THE SPRING SEMESTER OF YEAR 2025: 22 FEB 2026 (Sun) ~ 23 JUN 2026 (Tue)

 Ajou dormitory will not accept early move in and late move out, you cannot request to put your stuff before you move in.

*Also, pillows and blankets are not provided. 


2. 2026 SPRING SEMESTER DORMITORY APPLICATION SCHEDULE

*Dormitory applications always begin at midnight (00:00), at the very start of the application date.

Example: If the application date is July 11, the application starts at 00:00 on July 11 — right as July 10 ends and July 11 begins.

3. Eligibility

1) Enrolled undergraduate, graduate, exchange, and CIE students in Korean programs.

2) Students on a leave of absence are not eligible (those returning in the 2026 Spring semester are eligible)

3) Students who have not been expelled from the dormitory due to disciplinary violations

4) Graduate students who have completed coursework and are recommended by their academic advisor for educational or research purposes

* If you are a graduate student who completed the course work, you can ONLY apply to the dormitory when you submit the below documents. (대학원수료생)

  - Statement of Supervisor 1 copy (download the attached form)

  - Completion certificate 1 copy

* You can only stay in the dormitory up to 6 semesters from the completion date of coursework, if there are enough rooms in the dormitory

* If there are no enough capacity in the dormitory, your application will not be approved even though you submit all required documents.

※ Only those who have previously submitted the document and whose “residence end date” has changed must resubmit it. (Submit to: eunji@ajou.ac.kr)



4.  APPLICANT ROUTE 

  1) For Enrolled Undergraduate, Graduate Students

   Step 1. Access to Ajou portal  https://mportal.ajou.ac.kr/main.do

   Step 2. Click "로그인하세요(Log in)" Top right of the page

   Step 3. Change language into English - it is bottom of the page

   Step 4. Click "(New)Academic Affairs Information (학사서비스)"

   Step 5. Click "Application for Student living"+

   Step 6. Click "Dormitory Application" (Left side of the page)

   For resident who wants to stay in the same room of winter semester 2025, you need to tick the question “I PREFER TO STAY IN THE SAME ROOM STAYING NOW”, when you apply for the dormitory in Ajou portal.

  

  2) New Graduate student, Enrolled Exchange Students:

    Log in at the online housing application system

    web page: https://ajou.ac.kr/edorm/index.do

    After log in to the above website, please select the relevant option in blue box.

  3) CIE Students for Korean Programs in Ajou university 

   Please contact the CIE office (located at #B101 Campus Plaza) / 031-219-3599 / TRAN, THI MINH TRANG/ 짠티밍짱

 ✅ Since the Consecutive Resident Applications are for domestic students who plan to stay for more than one year, this option does not apply to international students. International students must apply via the Application for Residence route.

(If you apply through the consecutive resident route, your application will not be accepted.) 



5. NOTES FOR APPLICATION

1) All buildings have the same application date.

2) After the 1st round of applications -> announcement of selection results -> room allocation -> payment, the 2nd round of applications will be held for any remaining vacancies. If there are no remaining vacancies after the first round, the second round may not take place. Therefore, it is advisable to apply during the first round if possible.

3) Students selected in the first round are not eligible to apply in the second round. Please carefully choose the building and room type during the first round of application.

4) Even if you select the option to stay in the same room during the second round of application, it will not be considered, and room assignments will be based on remaining vacancies after the first round.

5) Room allocation will be based on the same room you stayed in during the winter vacation.

6) Do not transfer the dormitory fee from abroad. The exact amount may not be received due to remittance fees or exchange rate fluctuations. New students who are unable to enter Korea during the dormitory fee payment period can pay the fee after arrival.

⚠️ Important: [Payment After Move-In]

1. What is "Payment After Move-In"?

This option is for students who will not be in Korea during the regular payment period.

It allows students to pay the dormitory fee after arriving in Korea.

Only freshmen and exchange students are eligible to apply.

2. Payment Period (After Move-In)

March 5 – March 12

3. How to Apply for Payment After Move-In

When applying for dormitory residence, select "Payment after dormitory check-in" in the application form.

⚠️️ If you do not pay during the payment period and do not apply for “Payment after dormitory check-in”, your dormitory application will be automatically cancelled.

7. DORMITORY FEE REFUND BEFORE MOVE IN DATE

- Full Refund for Admission Cancellation (100%): Contact the Dormitory Operations Team by email and apply within the designated period listed in the table below to receive a full refund.  

- Partial Refund for Early Withdrawal (75%–25%): Refer to the Dormitory Website > Mid semester move-In&out

**Refunds can only be made to Korean bank accounts. The refund will be processed about three weeks after your move-out date.

1) For early withdrawal: You must apply for withdrawal through AIMS and notify to coordinator. On the day of move-out, submit the Move-out Confirmation Form to the inspector office on the 1st floor of your building.

*Refunds will not be issued if the form is not submitted.

2) For detailed procedures and refund amounts, refer to the Dormitory Website > Move-in/Move-out > Mid semester move-In&out

3) To get a dormitory fee refund, you must have a bank account in Korea. We do not give a refund to the bank account overseas.



7. REQUIRED DOCUMENTS BEFORE MOVE IN

1) Document to Submit: Tuberculosis (TB) test result(a medical certificate or doctor’s note stating "Normal / Negative / Cured / Not contagious")

2) Who Must Submit: Students entering the dormitory for the 2026 Spring Semester

Those who have already submitted a valid result within the test date range are exempt

3) Valid Test Date Range: Only results from tests conducted between Feburary 23, 2025 – Feburary 22, 2026 will be accepted

4) How to Check: Ajou University Portal > Dormitory Application > Test Date

※ Previously submitted test dates can be checked on Portal.

5) Submission Deadline: Feburary 22, 2026 (Sun)

※ Depending on the medical institution, it may take 1–7 days to receive results. Please get tested in advance considering the deadline

6) Submission Method: Online submission → Detailed instructions will be provided in a future notice

7) Important: Failure to submit by the deadline will result in ineligibility for dormitory admission and forced withdrawal



9. MOVE IN PROCEDURE

- Registration (Payment) > Submit Tuberculosis Test Result (Online) > Bring Student ID > Visit the Support Office on the 1st Floor of Your Assigned Building > Move In

- Recommended Move-In Time: 10:00–19:00

 (※ You cannot move in during staff meal times: 11:30–12:30, 17:30–18:30. Entry is also not allowed after 22:00.)



10. Additional Information

1) Dish sponges and dish soap are not provided in the shared kitchen.

2) You must bring your own mattress cover. After moving in, you are required to use the mattress cover on your bed. If the mattress becomes dirty due to not using a cover, you may be charged a cleaning fee based on actual costs.
