NEW (2015-05-04)LG Electronics CEO MunBeom Shin receives a plaque of appreciation from Ajou for contributing 40 million won

CEO Mun Beom Shin, head of LG Electronics’ China businesses, received a plaque of appreciation on May 4th in Ajou University’s Presidential Office.  
 
CEO Shin pledged to donate when he visited the University in 2013, and he has delivered on his promise by contributing a total of 40 million won — 20 million won in both May 2014 and April 2015.
 
CEO Shin is an Ajou alumnus (Department of Mechanical Engineering, entering class of 1973), and he was appointed to lead LG Electronics’ China businesses in 2012. He joined the then Goldstar in 1986, serving as Vice President of LG Electronics India in 2005 and later as the head of the company’s southwestern Asia businesses in 2007. He is well-known as an international marketing expert within LG Electronics.
 
In his words to CEO Shin, President Dong Yeon Kim said, “We are very proud that the University has such a great alumnus like you who can be an example for our students. We are even more thankful that you have made a contribution.”
 
CEO Shin replied, “I think I simply did what I should do. I feel more responsible now that I have received this plaque of appreciation.”
