2015-12-16

An event was held to encourage Ajou University students who are preparing for the final test for the fall semester of the 2015 academic year.

The event was held on the afternoon of December 15th in the square in front of the exit for the University Central Library's Information Room, with President Dong Yeon Kim, Executive Vice President for Industry-Academia Cooperation Kyung Hee Choi, Vice President for Student Affairs Jai Hyoung Cho, and students from the General Student Council in attendance. During the event, the President and other officials distributed bread and hot coffee to about 2,000 students who dropped by despite the cold weather.

President Kim asked individual students their names, shook hands with and gave words of encouragement to and joked with them. A female student said to the President, "I am considering teaming up with about ten seniors and juniors to apply for the Creative Activity Semester with a project for building remote control vehicles," and President Kim replied, "It is a great idea and will be helpful. Keep working on it."

The refreshments distribution events, which have been organized by the University's LINC (Leaders in INdustry-college Cooperation) Project Group in time for tests, aim to promote the Project among students. Ajou was first selected for the LINC Project in 2014 and won the "Excellent Grade" in this year's annual evaluation conducted by the National Research Foundation of Korea, and it is set to receive 4.95 billion won, which is an increase of 1.05 billion won from the previous year.

Meanwhile, a booth for the Creative Activity Semester was set up next to the event square, and some students visited the booth to receive counseling.
