A delegation from Indonesia's Institute Teknologi Bandung (ITB) visited Ajou on December 17th and promised to closely cooperate with the University in the future.

The ITB delegation was led by Professor Bambang Riyanto Trilaksono and Professor Ir. Arry Akhmad Arman, and President Dong Yeon Kim, Dean of the College of Engineering Sang Duk Lee, Dean of the College of Information Technology Jung Yol Jo, and Vice President for External Relations Byung Chun So represented Ajou at a meeting with them, in which both sides discussed specific ways for cooperation.

The two sides met in the President's Office and Conference Room 1 in Yulgok Hall, where they also exchanged views on the Global Young Business Managers (GYBM) Program and possible overseas career opportunities for Ajou's students. GYBM has been operating in Vietnam since 2012 under the initiative of former Daewoo Group Chairman Woo Jung Kim, and has expanded into Myanmar and Indonesia at present. ITB is the Indonesian institute where students are being trained for the program.

ITB was established in 1920 as a branch school of Holland's Delft University of Technology at a time when Indonesia was ruled by the Netherlands. In 1959, it became an independent educational institute. As one of the most prestigious universities in Indonesia, 19,800 students are currently attending ITB, and its alumni include the first and third Presidents of Indonesia and many other well-known people. It ranks around 80th among Asian universities in the QS Worldwide University Rankings. ITB established a sister university relationship with Ajou in 2006.
