The goal of this talk is to provide a quick overview of tropical geometry through examples with details. After defining basic objects in tropical geometry, we explain their relations to the classical algebraic geometry via the notion of amoebas and coamoebas of algebraic varieties and their degenerations. We will give some applications of tropical geometry to real and complex enumerative geometry.
